ABOUT THE GUIDE
HIGH WIND GUIDE TO RESIDENTIAL MASONRY CONSTRUCTION
THE PARTNERS
The Masonry Association of Florida (MAF) was awarded grant funding from two organizations, the Florida Concrete Masonry Education Council and the Mason Contractors Association of America, to update the High Wind Guide to Residential Masonry Construction, a companion guide to the ICC 660. This updated guide is an essential resource for masonry contractors, engineers, and architects who work with concrete masonry.
The MAF collaborated with partners at The Masonry Society, ICC 600 (International Code Council Evaluation Service), and the Concrete Masonry and Hardscapes Association (CMHA) to develop the updated online companion guide. This partnership brought together experts in the masonry industry and allowed for the integration of their many years of structural masonry experience.
The Guide offers comprehensive information on wind loads and it includes example diagrams, tables, and practical advice for designing masonry structures to withstand wind loads up to 180 mpg.
The Guide is a valuable resource for masonry contractors, engineers, designers and other masonry industry professionals as it provides access to up-to-date information and resources.
If you need assistance or have questions or comments, please contact the Masonry Association of Florida.
